Full-Time Content Specialist

Hark is growing, and we are now seeking a highly competent individual to assist in the ongoing development of content creation for a variety of internal work and client projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Write content for: Websites, News Releases, Articles, Advertising pieces, Brochures, Blog posts, and Social media
  • Report on ongoing events and stories
  • Maintain and update website content for a variety of our clients

Required Expertise:

  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing, Journalism, Multi-Media Communications, New Media, or a related field
  • Strong working skills and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent writing skills for web and print in an academic setting. Work samples may be requested
  • Experience working in marketing, communications, PR, or a related environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply creative design principles in the production of engaging web content
  • Capability of working in a fast-paced setting on multiple projects
  • Attention to detail and flexible in shifting priorities and working under deadlines

Good to Have:

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

Full-Time Web Developer

Work with our creative team of designers, developers, and project managers, to help to bring cutting edge websites to life and provide strategy for the sucess of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Turn PSD files into living sites
  • Apply and discuss emerging industry trends with our team
  • Aid in the growth of our team and success of our clients

Required Expertise:

  • CMS experience using Drupal, WordPress and Hubspot
  • Strong proficiency in HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Ability to take PSD designs and turn them into fully functional websites
  • Experience with jQuery / Ajax
  • Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS3 and responsive web design
  • Knowledge of PHP and MySQL
  • Comfortable working at the command line
  • Ability to provide hourly estimates and work within a deadline
  • Experience with source control such as Git (preferred), or Mercurial

Good to Have:

  • Experience with Sass/Compass
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • ~3 years of proven web development experience
  • Experience with Magento Commerce and/or Shopify
  • Basic knowledge of Linux web server administration
  • Knowledge of any web development framework – Ruby on Rails, ASP.NET, Django, etc.

SEO & Social Media Internship

Responsibilities:

  • On-page Search Engine Optimization such as keyword research and optimization, metadata implementation, and image optimization
  • Link building activities including blogger outreach
  • Social media activities and best practices
  • Cross-browser testing
  • A/B Testing
  • Analytics and Reporting

Requirements:

  • Is a fast learner with a great attitude
  • Works well independently and with our team
  • Has experience or coursework in web marketing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiar with Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Brings new ideas and strategy to our Agency
  • Working knowledge of web copywriting best practices and social media (including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn)

Additional Details:

  • Paid internship
  • Work week: Part-Time 15-20 hours; Full-Time up to 40 hours
  • Spring Internships begin in early January and end in April
  • Summer internships begin in May and end in August
  • Fall internships begin in September and end in December
  • Flexible time off with 2 weeks notice
  • Downtown Burlington office
